When it comes to losing weight, the vast majority of people fall into those popular beliefs that go from mouth to mouth. Weight loss is a complex phenomenon since it is not only trying to do some exercise and remove fat from the diet.
To think that the same diet is right for everyone is wrong, and to look for an accelerated method to be able to lose that accumulated kilos throughout life, further complicates that situation.
.- Very few carbohydrates and many proteins. The best thing about a diet is not to eliminate foods (except saturated fats) but to know how to balance them. Rice, potatoes or noodles are as important as a piece of fish, meat or chicken. The set and variety are what determine a healthy and balanced diet.
.- The water gets fatter during meals. Water is a nutrient that does not provide calories. Therefore it does not get fat or lose weight if it is taken before, during or after meals.
.- The night meal turns into fat. The fundamental thing is to eat small portions every three hours, not skip the food. If you are invited to eat, you can go but do not eat in large quantities.
.- The fruit after the meal is fattening. The fruit has the same calories, does not get fat because it is taken in a certain order, but because the amount of calories ingested exceeds the needs of the individual. What is certain is that the fruit has a high fiber content, which causes a feeling of fullness.
.- The more exercise you do, the more weight you will lose. Playing sports is just one more piece of the puzzle. Do not give all the responsibility of your weight to exercise, you must complement it with a healthy life: controlled vices and balanced diet.
.- Whole products have fewer calories. They usually contain quantities very similar to the non-integral product, what really differentiates them is that the integral products have a greater amount in fiber. An example, both white bread and the integral provide the same calories. The advantage is that fiber improves intestinal transit and has a satiating power over appetite.
.- In a diet, age does not matter. As you age, your metabolism slows down. Now you know why some women are served some diets and others are not.
.- Fresh foods are more nutritious than frozen ones. The cold of the refrigerator or freezer maintains the qualities of food without alteration, so a frozen fish or meat will not provide less nutrients than if you eat them fresh.
.- The light helps to lose weight. That the label of a food says light does not mean that it has zero calories. In addition, a light product does not mean that it can be eaten in double portion.
.- Foods are neither good nor bad depending on the amount of cholesterol they contain, there are more aspects to consider. The egg, for example, showed that in addition to containing cholesterol, it has proteins such as lecithin, vitamins and minerals. It is important to worry about the intake of excess cholesterol.
