As soon as the weather it becomes cold, it is almost inevitable that we begin to suffer coughing problems. Both bacterial infections, such as streptococcal pharyngitis, and viral infections, such as influenza, can cause sore throats.
Teas that help us relieve pain:
1- Hot drink of lemon and honey : Add the juice of a lemon to a cup of hot water and add a teaspoon of honey. Take slowly warm.
2- Thyme infusion: Thyme is an aromatic herb that contains vitamin C and whose leaves have medicinal properties very beneficial for health, hence they are taken together with honey to relieve sore throat.
Heat water and add a teaspoon of thyme for each cup. You should let it boil for five minutes. Then, let it rest for ten minutes. Add the juice of half a lemon and a teaspoon of honey. It is convenient to take this infusion three times a day.
3- Ginger tea: It has to be fresh and grated to take effect. The ratio is 3 teaspoons of ginger per cup of boiling water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes, add a tea bag and a spoonful of honey.
4- Tea with sage leaves: Sage is another natural herb with vitamin C and with antiseptic properties so which will be an ally to fight viruses that are often responsible for sore throat.
Heat water and when it boils pour the water on some sage leaves. We let them sit for fifteen minutes and then we strain the tea before adding it to the cup. Add a teaspoon of honey and we will drink tea slowly.
5- Onion: This vegetable has antibiotic properties. Cut an onion into several pieces and place them in a bowl with half a liter of water. Add three tablespoons of sugar and let marinate for 12 hours. We can drink a cup of this liquid every two hours.
6- Grandma's broth: There will be nothing better than having a good bowl of broth, it will warm the body and relieve the sore throat at the same time weather. Boil water in a pot and introduce four stalks of celery, along with two chopped carrots, ¼ of fennel and a clove of peeled garlic as it is a natural antibiotic. Blend the broth, and take it twice a day.
The sore throat is usually the first sign that we have caught a good cold, although it can also be from other ailments more worrying, so if the fever starts to rise or we begin to feel pain in the joints, we must go to the doctor.
